Lula Grace Harrison was born on February 8, 1920, to the late Robert and Sally McKinley Dula in Lenoir, North Carolina. She was the third of six children, and was preceded in death by her five siblings, Robert Dula, Marion Price, Hazel Dunson, Corrinne Baskett, and Samuel Dula, Sr. "Grace" as she was lovingly called moved with her family to Cincinnati, Ohio early in her childhood. She attended the old Woodward High School. She was married to the late Virgil C. Harrison and together they shared fifty-two wonderful years of loving marriage and friendship. Grace adored and was deeply devoted to her husband, family, and friends. Grace was baptized at an early age into the Presbyterian faith and later as a Catholic at Mother of God Catholic Church. She was a regular attender at St. Frances De Sales for many years. In 1997, she rededicated her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She dearly loved her family and maintained very close relationships with each of her siblings. She was a founding member of "Party of Five". This social club organized many events and supported charitable community initiatives like the "Neediest Kids of All". Grace was also a dog-lover who had many furry friends. In the last years of her life, her Shih Tzu "Sissy" was her constant companion and provided her with great joy. Grace departed this life on October 19, 2016. Cherishing the memories of her life and love are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by life-long friend, Lillian Harris. Other special friends who celebrate her memory include the sweetest neighbors this side of heaven. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the St. Francis DeSales Church, 1600 Madison Road, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232. The family of Lula Grace Dula Harrison gives very special recognition to the tireless dedication of her in-home care givers, Clarence and Audrey Glenn. Much appreciation is also extended to Margaret Contadino and Judith and Mary Jo Velton of St. Francis De Sales for their gracious and committed fellowship and serving of communion.
