Luevida Bridgewater Whalen, most affectionately known as "Vida" departed life at the age of 83 years, on Monday, June 29, 2020.  Proceeded in death by her parents Edward Allen Bridgewater, Sr. and Mary Francis (White) Bridgewater; Brother(s): David Lee Bridgewater; Edward Allen Bridgewater, Jr., (Doris); William Leslie (Dillion) Bridgewater (Sally); Ralph Glen Bridgewater (Martha); Ray Garland Bridgewater; Chester David Bridgewater.  Sister(s): Lillie Francis Johnson, (Charlie); Necola Bridgewater-Maxey.

Vida leaves to mourn: Husband of sixty-four years Richard D. Whalen, Jr. Edgewood, Kentucky; Children: Johnny Ray Bridgewater, Decatur, Georgia; Michael Lynn Whalen, Stone Mountain, Georgia; Dorian Whalen, Berkeley, California; Byron Wayne Whalen, Edgewood, Kentucky; Kim Yvonne Whalen (Daughter deceased, 2013); Mark Douglas Whalen, Edgewood, Kentucky. Grandchildren: Jonna Rae, Pueblo, CO; Brandon, Stone Mountain, GA; Angelo, Cincinnati, OH; DeMarian, Berkeley, CA; Nastashia, La Vergne, TN; Pierre, Berkeley, CA; Pairren, Cincinnati, OH; Shanice, Cincinnati, OH; Kiley, Erlanger, KY; Marquis, Erlanger, KY; Kierra, Ludlow, KY; Michael Jaden, Conyers, GA; Cameron, and Donovan, Ludlow, KY.  Vida leaves a host of loving, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the United  Community Christian Church, 1710 Maryland Avenue, Covington  (41014).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Elizabethtown Ky City Cemetery, 420 East Dixie Hwy. , Elizabethtown, Ky 42701.
