Lois Elaine Sheffey was born in Leesburg, Alabama on December 25th, 1935 to the Union of Simmie Jackson and Louise Jeltz.  She is preceded in death by her Father, Mother, and first husband John Thomas Jouett Jr., and second husband John Robert Sheffey, three sisters, one brother and one grandson.

Lois grew up in Alabama and attend Hatcher High School, graduating in 1956.  Lois came to Covington in 1958 and united in marriage to John T. Jouett, Jr., to this union was born three children.  She took up nursing through the mail, and later after moving to Covington, she went on to pursue her Nursing Degree at Northern Kentucky State Vocational School where she received her L.P.N. Degree in 1980.  She worked for Saint Elizabeth Medical Center for 35 years.

After her first husband passed away, she later married John R. Sheffey.  Lois loved to work in her yard planting flowers, she loved to take care of kids and adults.  Lois received Christ at an early age, she was a devoted member of the Ninth Street Baptist Church of Covington, she loved teaching Sunday School and the Word of God.  She served in several capacities, church secretary, senior choir, Pastor's Aide and Missionary.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sharon L. Brown, her son, Daryl T. Jouett, and son, Andre Jouett (Tracy), also her favorite neighbors, Ms. Butler, Sis., Moriah Beasley, and Ms. Helen, and the Marshall brothers. Her great friend Sis. Bobbie Bonner, and Sis. Addie Lowery.  Seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Ninth Street Baptist Church of Covington , 231 East Ninth, Covington  (41011).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Pastor Richard Fowler, Officiating.

Pallbearers: Paul W. Brown Jouett, Jr., Stephon Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Terry Brown, Quentin Jouett, John Marshall, Jerry Avery, Anthony Louis.

Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Fowler, Jeff Hutchins, Eric Thompson, Donald Sheffey, DeMarco Wilson.
