Listen to Obituary

Linnette Johnston, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 58. A woman of deep conviction and fierce love, she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Born on July 20, 1967, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Josephine Thompson and the late John Thomas Jr., Linnette was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a proud graduate of Withrow High School, where she formed the foundation for a life defined by strength and resilience.

Raised with a foundation of faith and hard work, Linnette found Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Second Trinity Baptist Church in Walnut Hills under the leadership of Rev. Reed. Her faith provided a steady foundation for the woman she had become - principled, strong, and unwavering.

She was a dedicated and reliable professional, serving 26 years at CSI Republic until her untimely passing. In the workplace and in her personal life, Linnette was known for her "zero tolerance" personality. She was a straight shooter who valued honesty and respect; she was a woman of her word who earned the respect of everyone she encountered.

A Legacy of Love

Above all else, Linnette lived for her family. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, but it was her grandchildren who truly held the key to her heart. She loved them "even more," pouring her soul into their happiness and ensuring they were always the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas Jr., and her sister, Margie Johnston; step-father Jackie Thompson Sr.
