Leroy "LJ" Curry was born on September 29, 1944 to the late Mattie B. Shirley-Williams and Joe Frank Curry in Troy, AL. He graduated from East Academy High in 1964 and married Johnnie Mae Curry in February 1968. They had 5 children: Stacy Lawrence, April Curry, Leroy Curry Jr, Scott Curry Sr. (Constance), and Tonya Johnson (Erle). He met Jennie Lee Curry and had three more children: Brian Curry, Colby Curry and Tiffany Curry and adopted daughter Brittney Wood. They were married on April 3, 2004. LJ worked with Troutman Enterprises for 20+ years and later for Towne Construction. LJ is preceded in death by parents Mattie Shirley-Williams and Ellison Williams, Sr, biological father Joe Frank Curry and siblings: John H. Curry Sr., Robert E. Williams, Mattie H. Knox and Juanell Curry. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jennie Lee Curry, his children, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12 noon, on Friday, March 6, 2020, at the Market Place Movement Christian Church, 3300 W/ Third Street, Dayton, OH 45417. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12 noon.

Interment will follow at West Memory Gardens, 6722 Hemple Road, Moraine, Ohio with Repass following at Dee Jay's Party Room, 4919 Hoover Ave., Dayton, Ohio.
