Leroy quietly, peacefully slept away and departed this life November 26, 2013 at his residence, 2004 Ridgetop Way, Cincinnati, Ohio. Leroy is preceded in death by his lifetime companion and the love of his life, Betty Jean Parker-Oliver; two daughters, Saundra Burton and Sarah Ann Oliver; one son, William Parker; four sisters, Mattie B. Robinson, Esther Page, Girlee Jones, Jessie B. Burton; one brother Jay C. Burton. Leroy accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Leroy took care of all his siblings after his parents passed working two jobs to provide for them all. Leroy especially loved the Christmas holiday season spent with his brother and sisters. Leroy was a blessing to his entire family. Leroy loved and had a natural talent for cooking, held the position as Head Cook at David's Grill in Meridian, Mississippi. Leroy later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in the 1950's and attended Taft High School. Leroy was employed at Samuel Bengal, as a machinist until his retirement. Leroy's favorite pass times were shared with family and friends, listening to the radio following his favorite number #1 baseball team, the Cincinnati Reds. Leroy had a loving, caring, wonderful spirit, tons of wisdom, always willing to lend a listening ear and willing to help anybody. Leroy was also full of jokes and laughter, a good dancer and loved to dress! Leroy was a wonderful father and grandfather. Leroy was loved by many and respected by all. He will be truly missed!
