Leon Tinker was born on September 16, 1941, to the late Spurgin and Mervil Tinker in Greensboro, Alabama. On November 12, 1973, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Mildred Gentry. He left this earthly life on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the age of 73 years old. Leon confessed his love for Christ at a young age. He was a member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the Sunday School, Bible Study, and the Male Chorus. And later became a Deacon. He was the Assistant Chef at the Golden Lamb for 25 years. He was a devoted brother to Velma Watkins, Altha Maye, Cheryl Winston, Rachel Williams (Robert), Charles Tinker, and late Johnnie Tinker (Johnnie Mae) and Merdis Wilder (Melvin). He loved landscaping, gardening, spending time with family and friends. Leon was the devoted father to Marsha Dalton (James), Late Robert Bailey Jr (Valerie), Lisa Fueston, Sheila Yancy (Abram), Yolanda Travenia (Ronald), Dr William Mays (Sheila), and Venita Simpson. And loving grandfather to Christy Fueston, Amanda Telinda, Beverly Dalton, Robert Bailey III, Courtney Dalton, and Jessica Bailey. Eight great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. He will be truly missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Zion Hope Missionary Baptist, 3021 Mathers St, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment is in Arlington Memorial Gardens at Mt. Healthy, Ohio.
