Lawrence Chester Smith, Sr passed this life to be with the Lord on December 22, 2016. Lawrence was born in Glen White, West Virginia on March 24, 1946 to the late Ruth Mae Edison Smith and John Franklin Smith. He attended the WV School system. He later moved to Cincinnati and worked for Sheehan Pools for thirty years as an installer. He was also a general contractor. He married the late Ruth Ann Williams Smith in Newport, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by son, Robert Jason; daughter, Hazel Roberts; brothers, John Thomas Smith, William Leon Smith, Curtis Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, sons, Lawrence Smith Jr (Tina), DeAndre Smith, Kermit D. Smith; daughters, Anna Marie Wilson (Scott) and Lisa Nadine Williams; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Bandy, Charles Smith, Marie Hudson, Florence Smith, Norman Smith; host of uncles, nieces, nephews, special friends, Robert Ingulls, Virinda Garland Doddy, Terry Bell, Freddie Moore, Patricia Headen. Lawrence was a Past Worshipful master of Newport Lodge No 120; past High Priest Durgan Chapter No 5 and Past Potentate of Aleikum Temple No 96.
