Obituary

Lavenia Fannon Bartleson "Lu Lu" grew up in Evanston (E-Town), born on June 15, 1957, the ninth child of thirteen to the late Wallace Sr and Clara Odessa (Woods) Fannon.  She departed this life after a long period of illness with Multiple Sclerosis.

She was baptized at a young age under Pastor Robert Flowers at New St. John Baptist Church. Later in life, Lu Lu became a member of Second Baptist Church of Madisonville, under the Pastorship of her brother, Pastor Gerald Fannon.  Lavenia attended the neighborhood schools in E-Town.  Her only regret was that she did not further her education, so, she encouraged young people to get theirs.  She married and from this union she had two sons, Dante and Jonte.

Lu Lu always told silly jokes and most of the time no one understood them but her.  When Lu Lu talked to you about life, she was real.  She said the only thing about her that was fake, was her teeth.  She loved her family very much and really loved it when they could all get together for family gatherings.  Planning parties for her family gave her great joy.  Fishing and listening to old school music were two of her favorite past times.  She enjoyed being social and having a good time.  Lu Lu was very curious about everything and not fearful of most things. She truly loved life and never complained despite years of an extended illness.

Lavenia was preceded in death by son Jonte; parents: Wallace Sr. and Clara Odessa; brothers: Wallace Jr., Larry, and Ronald Fannon; sister Arlene "Toni" Fannon; and her best friend Nedra Wills.

Lu Lu leaves to cherish her memory, son Dante (Tianeka) Bartleson.  Dante was an attentive and loving son who showed great care and devotion to Lavenia.  She will be deeply missed by grandchildren: Ariana Seay, Trinity Bartleson, DaKari Bartleson, Jahiee Bartleson, and Jonte Bartleson; great-grandsons: Trevian Seay and Aireon Seay; sisters: Sandra Flowers, Patricia Hamm (Joe), Brenda Little, Marcia Frye (Brian), Jacqueline Edwards (Les), and Yolanda Fannon; brothers: Michael and Gerald Fannon (Dierdre). She has over thirty nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends along with special friends: Gayle Minor and Lois Lane (who never left her side).

Special thanks to Brian Frye (when she called, he came) and her sister Sandra.
