Laurence P. Dennis of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was 54 years old.
Laurence was born on January 4, 969, to the late Frederick and Betty Dennis. He is the youngest son of 6 siblings; Beverly, Kevin (Lisa), Keith (Phyllis), Kim (Gene), Katris, and Kathy.
Laurence would marry Julia, his best friend of 40 years. They would have two beautiful daughters, Jarde' and Lauren. Laurence's greatest accomplishments were being a husband, a father, a homeowner, and receiving baptismal on July 24, 2023. He cherished his family and was very protective of his girls. He was a great role model to them. He shared his talents and gifts with his daughters teaching them the love of music and technology and the fundamentals of life. He introduced books and was a big advocate for education, he held a passion for learning. Although Laurence and his family lived a private life, he captured every moment on video leaving behind a lifetime of memories. Laurence and Julia were married for 22 years, until his death.
It was clear at an early age that he had a musical gift. He learned to produce music and beats and would become a disc jockey early in his life. He mentored young men through his artistry of music and educated them on becoming productive members of society. He was a great role model to the children. He shared his knowledge of life and enjoyed entertaining children. He would gather the kids in his neighborhood and treat them to ice cream, play hand games for quarters, and would often keep a smile on their faces. Laurence was admired by so many, always dependable, and didn't mind helping others. He had a big heart and would apologize to right his wrongs. He was known for his sense of humor and loved making others laugh. He gave monetary gifts and food to the homeless. He was a hard-working, skilled man who could repair and install electric outlets, repair technical equipment, cars, etc.
Laurence had a few special friends that he would refer to as his brothers. He loved being in the company of family and friends. These included; his mother-in-law (Troy LaVerne), father-in-law (Richard), sister and brother-in-laws, aunts and great aunts, uncles and great uncles, nieces and great nieces, nephews and great nephews and plenty of cousins and long time friends. Overall, Laurence was a man of integrity, compassion, and valor who put in a good fight. He will be missed by many!
There will be a private memorial service in his honor at a later date.
