LARRY O'NEIL WHITTLE Larry O'Neal Whittle, 71, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016. Born April 17, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Roscoe Whittle and Mathree (Fuller) Whittle. He graduated from Withrow High School in 1963. After graduating High School he went to work for the Chicago Tribune as a cartoon artist. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and was stationed in San Diego, California to serve. During his time in the service, Larry Whittle married Cynthia Ashford in 1967 and had two daughters Tonya Renne Whittle and Camille Denise Whittle. The girls were born at the Navel Air Force Hospital in San Diego, CA. Larry was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1969 due to severe head injuries and trauma. After the service, he and Cynthia moved to Washington D.C. where he was employed at Xerox and had an art studio in downtown D.C., where he sold many of his drawings and paintings. After returning home to Cincinnati, Larry became well-known in the art community and had his own art show on Cable Access. After 14 years of marriage, Larry and Cynthia divorced. Larry then had a long-term relationship with Ms. Christina Smith. During their union, Larry and Christina had two sons Keith and Larry Smith born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Whittle and younger brother Leonard Whittle. Larry leaves behind his mother, Mathree Whittle, one brother, Harold Whittle (Robin), two daughters, Tonya Cooper (Gerald) and Camille Wright (Oscar), two sons, Keith Smith and Larry Smith. Seven grandchildren, Cearra Camille Grisby, Hannah Selah Cooper, Oscar Zaire Wright Jr., Lailani, Larry III, Kalei and Karma Smith and two great-grandchildren Janiya Chanel Grisby, and Jerome Chaun Grisby. He also has left to love him are a host of niece (especially Nish), nephews, aunts and cousins. Larry O'Neal Whittle was well loved by family and will be greatly missed.
