Lawrence E. Prichard, 77 years, of Lynn, IN, passed away on Wednesday 9-3-2014. Lawrence E. Prichard was born in Jasper, IN to Jack and Luceal Prichard on April 6, 1937. He graduated from Silver Creek High School and Indiana University and married Rosalie L. Fleck on Dec. 27, 1960 in Mishawaka, IN. They were married for 53 years, one month and one week and were reunited exactly 7 months after Rose's passing. Larry spent his entire life in public service. He worked for the Indiana State Police Redkey post for 27 years and retired in 1991. He served as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 7 for over 20 years. After retirement, he served as a School Board member, substitute teacher and court bailiff. Larry volunteered as an instructor with the American Red Cross. He was a member of the Lynn Lyons Club. Larry was an amateur radio operator (call sign W9SUQ) and received recognition for contacting every county in the USA three times. Larry is preceded in death by his wife Rose, one infant son, his parents, Luceal & Jack Prichard & brother, William Prichard. Larry is survived by his son Brad and his wife Robin, their children Miranda, Kayla & Vanessa (Christopher Ross), great granddaughter Leila; His Daughter, Elizabeth Smith and her daughters Oriana and Ivy Smith; His brother John (Carolyn) and sister-in-law Donna Prichard and his dearest adopted family Kay & Steve Brown and their children TJ, Faith & Hope. Visitation is 1:00- 3:00 pm Saturday, 9/6/2014 at The Spartansburg United Methodist Church Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday 9/6/2014 at the Spartansburg United Methodist Church; Grave side will follow. Arrangements are by Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, IN. Memorials and gifts may be given to Spartansburg United Methodist Church building fund. The family of Larry wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all family, friends and the community for all of their prayers, cards and help during Larry's life.
