Larry Burnett Mathews was born on May 10, 1943 in Greenville, Georgia, the son of Johnny O'Neal and Doris (nee Hill) Mathews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24th, 2014 at Ebenezer Second Baptist Church, 10054 Dixie Court, Lincoln Heights (45215) with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. At age 70, Larry Burnett Mathews lost his fight with Cancer. He was born May 10, 1943, the son of Johnie and Doris Mathews. He departed this life on January 10, 2014 at Drake Hospital. Larry attended Lincoln Height Schools. Larry did construction work for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing, singing, and watching old boxing fights. Everyone who knew him call him L.B. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Doris Mathews, three daughters; Doris (David) Mathews-Mustafa, Linda Mathews, Loma Mathews, all of Cincinnati, OH; two sons, Larry Mathews of Texas, Johnny Mathews of Cincinnati, OH; four sisters, DorothyTate, Surlatta Thomas, Emma (Cornish) Summelin, and Rose Tate; three brothers, Robert (Marynell) Mathews, William (Dollie) Mathews, Clifford (Carnell) Mathews and one brother-in-law, Osben Munlin; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He had two close friends, Marilyn Luckett and June Hocker. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Johnie Mathews; sister, Marie Munlin; two brothers, Lonnie Mathews and Calvin Mathews.
