Campbell was born June 21, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late Charles Curtis Campbell and Jesse Mary Campbell. He attended Woodward High School during the late 1960's and graduated in the early 1970's. He worked for Micro Metal Steel. He is now forever with the Lord, and leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Vonnie; a daughter, Sheila R. Jackson; son-in-law, James W. Jackson, Jr.; five grandchildren, James Jr., Latoya, Jasmine, Keisha, Jeremiah; four great-grandchildren, Sheilaya, Dae'Ron, Durreall, Dayivon; sisters, Sherri McQueen, Deborah Campbell, Donna Campbell, Joyce Campbell; brother, Duncan Campbell (deceased); nieces, Jahmesha, Maqeda, Angel; nephew, Darnell, father to Daniel Johnson, Roberto Jr., Bra'anna, Shayna, Darnarion Campbell. Maternal uncles: James and Ronald Washington, aunts: Vivian, Yvonne, Rose, Louise, Mae Dean, Cleopha, and Vernell. A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from Alabama, Detroit and Cincinnati.
