Lamonte Vinson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 2, 1958 to the late Edgar L. Vinson and Bernice Todd Vinson.

He attended Withrow High School, after which he attended trade school where he learned to become a HVAC Specialist. Lamonte had several jobs throughout his life. His most cherished position was as a Crossing Guard for Cincinnati Public Schools where he enjoyed greeting the students of Taft Elementary School.

He was married to April Cunningham on February 12, 1998. To this union they raised two beautiful children.

Lamonte enjoyed cooking alongside his wife, spending time with his family, especially his Alabama family, as well as special friends, Charlie and Shelley Pugh.

Lamonte was a very caring and gentle man. If you needed it and he had it, you got it. He loved all holidays but his favorite was Christmas.

Lamonte was preceded in death by his four brothers, Edgar L. Vinson Sr, LaBaron Todd, Elliott D. Vinson and Johnny C. Vinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, April; stepchildren, Anna Baxter and Justin Cunningham; four sisters, Ruby Norman, Hilda A. Parson, Bernadette M. Broach and Jacquelyn R. Ficklin; uncle, Chris Todd (Luvirda); aunt, Nettie Vinson; three sister in laws, Ardean Todd, Kimberly Vinson, and Theresa Gipson; seven grandchildren; 17 nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
