Obituary

Lamont Antonius Stone, born on March 14, 1963, in Harlem, New York, was the second of three children born to Hershel and Barbara Stone. From an early age, Lamont embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and he remained a devoted member of St. John's Baptist Church in New York, NY.

Lamont's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to both personal growth and selfless service to others. He received his education in New York City, attending Manhattan Vocational High School, before furthering his studies at Voorhees Technical College. In 1988, he relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he would spend the next chapter of his life.

Professionally, Lamont was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He began his career by pursuing his passion for cars, working at a car dealership. Then went on to spend over two decades working for Luxottica, and later,  as a logistics warehouse supervisor at Polar, where he served for five years. His commitment to excellence in everything he did earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends alike.

Above all, Lamont was a man of extraordinary kindness and generosity. He had an innate ability to show up for those he loved, offering both his time and wisdom whenever  needed. He was a protector and provider for his family, always making sure that his mother, sister, and her children had a safe and loving home. Lamont was known for his selflessness and unwavering support, always putting others first.

In his personal life, Lamont was a man who lived with passion and curiosity. He had a lifelong love for cars and motorcycles, taking joy in learning about them and embracing the freedom of the open road. His spontaneous trips to foreign places  were filled with laughter and camaraderie, creating lasting memories with his close-knit circle of friends. Lamont was  an exceptional chef, particularly gifted as a baker, and his culinary creations were a source of pride and joy for his family.

Lamont's strength and unwavering support were a steady source of comfort and security for those he loved. He embodied the values of giving, humility, and devotion. His life was a testament to the power of love—particularly his unwavering faith  in God and love for his family. Lamont's legacy lives on through the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him, sharing his time, resources, and most of all, his heart.

Lamont is survived by his sister, Saundra Chavis; his brother, Kenneth Stone; his sister-in-law, Theodorsia Stone; four bonus children, Tyeisha, Tusharm, Teliek, and Taneya Chavis; as well as niece Khristine Hayes, and nephews Kenneth Stone Jr. and Kevin Stone; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory and carry on his legacy.
