Kofi Michelle Cooper was born on August 10, 1977, in Washington, D.C., to Vida Gillespie-Cooper and Gary Cooper. From the very beginning, she carried a light and strength that would define her journey through life.

Kofi was a woman of extraordinary willpower, unwavering faith, and boundless love. She lived her life in true survival mode—fierce, humble, and powerful all at once. Through every challenge she faced, she remained a fighter, grounded by her deep devotion to her family and the unbreakable spirit that lived inside her.

Kofi's love for life was reflected in her passions: she enjoyed sports, shopping, traveling, and creating memories with those she loved most. Her laughter was contagious, her love was endless, and her smile—always present—could brighten even the darkest days. She made everyone around her feel seen, loved, and important, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.

Family was at the center of Kofi's world. She carried her loved ones in her heart every step of the way, never wavering in her loyalty or her kindness. She grew up especially close to her favorite cousins, building lifelong bonds that shaped much of her spirit and joy. Kofi also had wonderful friendships; her friends were like family to her, and she treated them with the same fierce loyalty and unconditional love that she gave her family—and they, in return, loved her just as deeply.

She was the kind of soul who left a permanent mark—strong yet tender, bold yet nurturing, a true force of nature wrapped in grace.

Throughout her career, Kofi held multiple positions in the workforce, always bringing the same fierce dedication, resilience, and warmth that defined her life outside of work.

Kofi will be deeply and forever missed by her beloved daughter, Mikelle Hill; her loving parents, Vida Gillespie-Cooper and Gary Cooper; her brothers, Todd Cooper of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jazz Cooper of Paris, France; and her treasured aunt, Anita Gillespie, who never left her side at UC Hospital. She also leaves behind Katrina and Jack Morrison of Pinehurst, North Carolina; William and Kim Gillespie of Raleigh, North Carolina; and the Waddy and Gillespie families of West End, North Carolina; Howard Gillespie...

Her spirit will continue through her two nephews and two nieces—Todd Dior Cooper Jr., T'Kevion McKinney, A'niya Cooper, and Ta'Maury Cooper—each of whom held a precious place in her heart.

Kofi Michelle Cooper's legacy is one of strength, courage, love, and endless grace. Her memory lives on in every life she touched—a shining reminder that true strength is born from love, and true beauty is found in a heart that never gives up.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

In honor of Kofi, the family kindly requests that attendees wear Rose Gold, Pink, and White to the service.
