Her Legacy

Kimberly Ann Williams was born the youngest of eight in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 28, 1963 to the late Governor and Thelma Williams. She passed away on August 21, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.

After her mom's premature death her Uncle and Aunt, the late John and Catherine Robinson affectionately known as Uncle Johnny and Aunt Babe raised Kim.

Captain Williams professed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined Golden Leaf Baptist Church on August 31, 2005, where she was a dedicated member and faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher and in several ministries including Hearing Impaired Ministry, Kitchen Committee, Women's Intermediate Auxiliary, and the Church Party Committee.

Captain Williams' police biography reflects her esteemed career and selfless dedication to the city she protected.

Kim worked in all five of the city's police districts, most recently Internal Investigations.

Captain Williams also served in several specialized units: Street Corner, Vice, Intelligence, Event Planning, Detail Coordination, Patrol Administration, Criminal Investigation Section Personal Crimes Unit, Chief's Adjunct and Youth Services.

Kim attended Mt. Healthy High School before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from Xavier University and a Master's in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.

Captain Williams was also a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership Class, the FBI National Academy, and the Senior Management Institute for Policing. Additionally, she served as mentor for the FBI National Academy and the Police Executive Research Forum.

Kimberly was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  She affectionately served with the Sorors of Beta Zeta Zeta Chapter in Cincinnati, Ohio. National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), The Sentinel Police Association, National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives (NAWLEE), and Leadership Cincinnati.

A virtuous woman, a phenomenal public servant, a loyal and committed family member… while these qualities help to personify the character of Captain Kimberly Williams, of all achievements her greatest gift to the world is her only son, Robinson William Perry, whom she dearly loved.

She also deeply loved the siblings she is survived by Caroline Samuel (Smith), Kathleen Chapman, Val Larkin (Eric), Governor Williams (Krystal), and LaVerne DeArmond. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Simpson-Wallace, and brother, David B. Williams.

She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ande Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members including her dear "sister friends", Olivia Greer, Ivy Frye, Kimberly Pierce, Donna Robinson, Kim Moreno, and Marcy Lamb; the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and her beloved Cincinnati Police Department Family.
