Obituary

Kimberly Regina Hunter-Sweeten was born on July 12th, 1961 in Washington, DC to Benjamin Hunter and Doris Hunter (deceased).

Kimberly or as majority of her family referred to her as Regina moved to Cincinnati, OH as a young child. She has three siblings Darryl Hunter, Allen Hunter, and Benjamin Hunter.

She is a graduate of Aiken High School, Southwestern College and attended the University of Cincinnati.

She spent most of her life in the medical field. She was a paramedic, lab tech, nurse's assistant, and a phlebotomist. Kimberly (Regina) loved God and loved the church.

She sung in the choir in her earlier years, she had a beautiful voice and would travel to other churches to sing.  She was passionate and dedicated to her faith. She would later in her life begin preaching sermons. This was nothing new to her children since we have been hearing her preach to us from birth. It was hard to have a conversation with her, without the Lord being presented into the conversation. Ephesians states "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you". She was a kind soul and that is how she lived her life. She was always ready to jump in and help. If you needed something she was there without hesitation. She treated everyone she met with that same level of kindness, no matter if she had known you for 30 years or 30 minutes.  She only has three biological children, Donta Hunter, La'Kesha Alexander and Ka'Myra Sweeten, but was a mother figure to many. She was that type of loving and nurturing mother and would do anything for her children. She was an awesome mother, but as a grandmother she was unmatched and relished in that title. Her grandchildren, Tyke Hunter, Jarrell (Jay) Sweeten, Aris Hunter, Rylei Tolbert, Iaam Alexander and Joshua Evans were her heart. She did not base her life on riches or possession, but instead on servitude, her faith and family. To Kimberly (Regina) her family was her true legacy. Life is a string of moments, moments that shape not only your life, but that of those you share those moments with. So, remember those beloved moments you shared with her.

I write this with tears in my eyes as we prepare to navigate this world without you. It is hard to accept or even understand why you were taking from us so soon. Our hearts are broken, this world is significantly less bright without you. Our love for you will never pass away. You are not survived by only your family, but by a world of people who loved you. You never know how a gesture of kindness can impact someone's moment. You were truly a blessing. We will wrap our arms around each other for strength to make it through, Mom we love you, we love you, we love you!!
