Kerwin Dawan Vasser Sr., affectionately known as "Dawan", was born on September 11, 1959 to Clayborn Vasser Sr. and Norma Jean Vasser. Dawan was born and raised in Cairo, Illinois and graduated from Cairo High School. He relocated to San Jose, California for a few years and then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Dawan was friendly and quite a jokester. He had a playful personality and would have everyone laughing about the funny things he said. He had a very unique way with words but was very loving and giving to all.
Dawan LOVED music!!
Dawan pursued his interest of music, where he learned to play several musical instruments that included the keyboard, guitar and drums. He was a member of the local Cairo band "Sons of Soul". He always said the girls like "THE BOYS IN THE BAND!!"
Dawan is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Pompey Vasser and Millie Vasser; his maternal grandparents Verble Alcox and Georgia Alcox; his father and mother Clayborn Vasser Sr. and Norma Jean Vasser; and one sister, Pearline Vasser.
