Obituary

Kenneth Payne Jr. entered eternal rest July 23, 2013. Bright and early as I head to a routine doctors visit on April 17, 2013, I never thought that on this day our life would forever be changed. On this day the Lord blessed us with a baby. We found out that for 6 weeks you had been growing inside of mommy. The excitement and feelings of being blessed just overly joyed us. As you grew the life of you became so real, so sweet, so tender. Our mommy and baby talks we had while daddy was at work were amazing. On July 11, 2013 we found out that God blessed us with a baby boy and that brought the biggest Kool-Aid smile to your daddy's face. From that point on it was my son this, my son that and it was a joy to see the excitement in him. The nights your dad came home from work, he would rub my belly, kiss my belly and talk to you. We knew that you were fully awake. The fact that you knew when your daddy came home and you knew his voice was so precious. On Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 12:30pm, God called our baby soldier home. Kenneth Jerome Payne, Jr. That day it took us some time to understand what had taken place. God blessed us with a Fighter. Our angel fought until the very end. That was proof that God needed us to know that there is a war bigger than us going on and that our fighting soldier was needed. Ken, Jr. left in peace: his mother and father, Shaquila Montgomery and Kenneth Payne, Sr.; grandparents, Alonzo Sr. (Melanie) Montgomery, Roberta Mitchell (Samuel) and Herman Payne (Crystal); uncles, Patrick Captin (Samantha), Jared Montgomery, Maceo Feltha, David Montgomery, Alonzo, Jr., Aidyn and Samuel; great-grandparents, Regina Montgomery (Chipper) and Doris Captin (Larry); great-great grandparent, Annie Perry, a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends. Baby Kenneth joins in heaven his aunt Shamay Danielle Payne and a host of other relatives. We love you baby and you will never be forgotten.
