Kathy Jean
Smith
February 26, 1956 – May 14, 2026
Kathy Jean Smith was the daughter of the late Rosetta Wilson and Clifford Mobley. She was born on February 26, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Kathy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Emma Lou; aunts, Katherine Long, Betty Lou Tolbert, and Fannie Thomas; and uncle, Buddy Thomas.
Kathy, also known as "Boo", was educated in the Lincoln Heights School District. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
In her earlier years, Kathy was a housekeeper at Vernon Manor Hotel. She also worked as a machine operator at Cincinnati Die Cast.
Kathy shared a special bond with her brother, Neda Byah Smith, whom she lovingly protected throughout their younger years, often stepping in to defend him no matter the circumstance. A strong-willed and outgoing woman, Kathy truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Above all, she adored her dogs, Wishbone and Mocha, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Kathy was the cherished mother of four children: Kelvin D. Smith, Korey L. Smith (Tina), Tammie J. Smith, and Ron'Dale G. Smith (Britnee). She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
