Katherine Gibson , age 92, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born Tuesday, May 17, 1921 in Ottawa, Georgia. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Union Baptist Church, 405 W. Seventh Street, Cincinnati (45203) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Share special messages with the Gibson family at www.HerbWalker.com. Katherine Gibson, also known as 'Rene' was born May 17, 1921 to the late John Terrell and Mary Lou Terrell in Waycross, Georgia. Katherine departed her beautiful life at the age of 92 on February 28, 2014. Katherine accepted Christ in her life at a young age. She was a long time member of Union Baptist Church. She graduated high school and later married and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and five children. Katherine worked as a nurse at Children's Hospital. She also worked and retired from the Board of Education. Katherine was a warm and loving person who was loved by many. She had a passion for cooking and sewing. Katherine was also a member of the Senior Circle at Union Baptist Church. Katherine's husband, David J. Gibson, Sr.; sister, Sally Mae Arnold; brother, James Terrell; three of her children, John Earl Gibson, Ronald Gibson and Leonard Gibson, all preceded her in death. Katherine leaves to cherish her loving memories: her two children, David Gibson (Earlene) and Judy Gibson; daughter-in-law, Denise Gibson (Leonard); granddaughter, Erica (Eric and Ciara); 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
