IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Katherine Lois
Burton
August 28, 1931 – September 17, 2025
Katherine Lois Burton, age 94, was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 28, 1931.
Dear daughter of the late Robert and Virginia Rhodes Sr., Wife to the late Norman Burton, Beloved mother of Rosalind Bibbs, Loving Grandmother to Ronald (Denise), Kimberly (Randy), and Cristal (Derek). She was preceded in death by her siblings: Margie, Robert, Richard, Charlie, and Johnny. Survived by cherished brother Virgil.
At a very early age, Katherine professed her faith in Jesus and joined Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. She became a Disciple in July 2007. She faithfully attended Sunday School and enjoyed volunteering with Summer Enrichment and bringing along all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed traveling, bowling, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, Master at Connect 4, going to church, reading the Bible, and spending time with family. Katherine worked various jobs throughout her life, Pogues for many years as a waitress, a bus driver, The Light House in Silverton, and later became a Manager at H & R Block doing tax preparation.
Katherine opened her home to family and friends. You were always welcome to come and sit at the kitchen table for conversation and watch TV Shows from Maury to Wheel of Fortune. She loved talking about how life was growing up as a young girl, attending Rhodes family reunions, of which she took on the role as the family Secretary. Most will remember her to always have a riddle ready. She was very outspoken and could find a way to make you laugh. You could always find her well-dressed wearing her ruby red lipstick. Her presence made family gatherings warm, funny and unforgettable. Those left to cherish her memory include great-grandchildren Keith, Terrance, Jade, Travon, Diamond, Jewell, Tyran, Brandon, Elijah, Tyler, Bryce, Sapphire, and Trinity. Great-great-grandchildren Kylie, Amethyst, Ayden, and August. A host of Nieces, Nephews, and many family and special friends.
