On the day of October 2, 2025, residing at Otterbein Senior Life in Lebanon, Ohio, Karin Eva Paula Margarette Schubbaeus Thiel, born in Berlin, Germany, on May 18, 1941, to Eva Augusta Kiara Mimmi Mariechen Quante Schubbaeus and Werner August Oskar Schubbaeus, was finally reunited with her husband of 62 years, Albert Ernst Thiel.

She is survived by her brother: Wilfried Werner Friedrich Oskar Schubbaeus (Annemarie), her children: Norbert Siegfried Thiel (Trenia), Ronald Hans Thiel (Jennifer), Peter Werner Thiel, and Stefanie Eva Thiel Inman (Timothy), her grandchildren: Cory, Kelly, Chris, Natacia, Michael, Christina, and Rebecca, her 15 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several extended family members still residing in Germany.

The family will be having a memorial service in Karin's honor on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11 am at Messiah Lutheran Church at 4715 Holly Ave, Middletown, Ohio 45036. A luncheon will be provided at 1 pm at the Kings Activity Center at 579 Circle Dr, Lebanon, Ohio 45036 (Located at Otterbein).
