With broken hearts and deep, everlasting love, we announce the passing of Kala Cockrell, who gained her angel wings on February 20, 2026.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, at The Christ Hospital on March 1st, 2021, Kala was a radiant light from the very beginning. In her four precious years, she filled the world around her with joy, laughter, and a love so pure it will live on forever.

Kala was happy, loving, and full of beautiful energy. She had a spirit that could brighten any room and a smile that melted hearts instantly. She loved watching Gracie's Corner and The Boss Baby, and her favorite color was purple—a color as vibrant and special as she was. She was beautiful, so precious, and deeply adored.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Khalihah Muhammad; her father, Idris Cockrell, Jr; her brothers, Jhalil Wilson and Idris Cockrell III; her great-grandmothers, Rose White and Velma Strattman; her grandmothers, Rhonda White and Adrienne Minter; her aunts, Jazmine and Shae Cockrell; along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though her time here was far too short, the love Kala gave will last a lifetime. Her giggles, her bright eyes, and her sweet presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Our precious baby girl will always be remembered as a blessing, a light, and a love that can never be replaced. Though we cannot hold her in our arms, we will hold her in our hearts forever.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
