Obituary

The Life and Legacy of Justin Bernard Ivey Justin Bernard Ivey was born March 6, 1979 in the city of Cincinnati to John Bernard and Deborah (nee Coulter) Ivey. He departed this life Friday, February 23, 2018 after a brief illness. Justin accepted Christ at the age of seven and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Church (Glendale). He was a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church until his death. He grew up in the City of Forest Park and graduated from Winton Woods High School in 1998. He discovered a talent for barbering and obtained his license in 2000. After working at several shops, he opened his own upscale shop called the Styling Lounge Barber Studio in Finneytown. He also spent several years working for Cincinnati Public Schools as a security officer. Justin had a love of music and along with his friends produced a popular CD. Justin accepted his call into the ministry in 2012 and brought many souls to Christ with his unique style of ministry. Justin was a charismatic, creative and very artistic man who touched many lives. Not only was he a great barber, he was also a mentor to his young clients and students. He was an intelligent, fun-loving, comical and big-hearted person. His unique personality led to many nicknames: "Bella", "Big Jus", "Swoll", "JI DaBoss", "Booest", "Flub", "Justice", "JI", "J Dog" and he was known to his wife as "Babycakes". His smile lit up the room and his big laugh was infectious. The party did not start until Justin arrived. His larger than life personality touched everyone that he came into contact with. He will truly be missed. Family meant a lot to Justin. He loved to spend time with parents and brothers reminiscing and making them laugh. He also loved to travel with his family. Justin adored his children and was a very involved father. He met and married his soul-mate Ebony in 2012. They were a unique couple who loved being together in all their activities. He also enjoyed spending time with "The Cousins". He was especially fond of all his aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, wife, Ebony; his parents, Drs. John B. and Deborah Ivey ; brothers, Jonathan (Dominica) of Charlotte, NC and Jarred (Carlene) of Cincinnati, OH; sons, Jazziah, Damir and Javonni; daughter, Brooke Perry (Houston, TX); and a host of other relatives and friends.
