Obituary

Julia Mae Taylor (Wright), age 78, was born May 30, 1934 to Elnora (Hooks) Wright and Cleveland Wright in Montgomery, Alabama. She entered eternal Glory on February 9, 2013. Julia was the fourth of seven children. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death. At the age of seven, Julia's family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. She was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Woodward High School. Julia confessed Christ as her savior at an early age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Smith. She continued faithfully through the leadership of Rev. M.J. Mangham and was a member of the Usher Board. Julia remained faithful and was a member of the Senior Choir under the pastorate of Rev. M.K. Cash until her health began to fail. In 1952, Julia was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, James T. Taylor, Sr. This union was blessed with seven children, Joan, James Jr., Janice, Jacqueline, Jeanna, June and Jennifer. Her husband of 49 years preceded her in death. Julia was employed at Catherine Booth Hospital, The Keebler Company and after working at University Hospital for 19 years, she retired. Julia's interests included family, cooking, singing, shopping and sewing. She loved to cook. She welcomed many people to her house for dinner and always extended an invitation for a return visit. Mama, Grand Mommy and Grand Mama as she was so lovingly called by her children and grandchildren, had a heart of gold. Always loving, always giving, always faithful, always praying. Julia leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy: her loving children, Joan (Martin) Sweeney, James (Rochelle) Taylor, Jr., Janice Chamberlain, Jacqueline Taylor, Jeanna Keeling, June Slaughter, Jennifer (Walter) Wilson; 13 grandchildren, Courtney, Erinn, Terrance, Chaz, Travis, Ashley, Julian, Trinea, Todd, Mekaila, Taylor, Walter II, and Xavier; three great-grandchildren, Cordell, Madison and Sydney; three sisters-in-law, Mary Whitehead, Carrie Wright and Gwendolyn Wright; two special cousins, Delores Trotter and Diane Williams; many others including, nieces, nephew, Godchildren, cousins and friends.
