Elizabeth Julia Mae Howard was born on January 6, 1935, to Elizabeth Atterberry in Abbeville, South Carolina. On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Julia peacefully departed this life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin, whose legacy of love and care will be remembered for generations.

Julia was a lifelong learner, proudly earning her GED at the age of 55. She was actively involved in her children's and grandchildren's education, serving faithfully in their school PTAs. For more than 50 years, she also volunteered at Ohio's voting polls, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to civic engagement and community service.

In her spare time, Julia enjoyed knitting, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire. She found great joy in spending quality time with her beloved family. Julia also had a love for television; she rarely missed an episode of "her stories," and she delighted in watching Family Feud, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, Walker, Texas Ranger, and Law & Order.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Atterberry; her sister, Juanita Davis; her son, Michael Howard Sr.; and her granddaughter, Erika Howard.

Julia leaves to cherish her memory four loving children: Donald (Geraldine) Howard, Kenneth (Runae) Howard, Kimberly Howard, and Daryl Howard. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will continue to honor her life and legacy.

Visitation is from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, on  Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 4:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
