IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juan Cornelius
Smith
January 2, 1975 – November 7, 2025
Juan C. Smith born January 2, 1975, to the late Leroy Chico Smith and Patricia Carlena Henderson (Peoples). He was called to glory on November 7, 2025. Juan graduated from Cape High School in 1993. Juan played all sports during his time in high school, with baseball being his favorite. Preceding Juan in death was his father Leroy C. Smith and his mother Patricia C. Henderson, his grandmother Zola Mae McKinney and his brother Eugene Smith.
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved father, who left us with a lifetime of love, strength, memories, and his forever protection. He was a man who found joy in the simple things -early mornings fishing, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and spending time with his family. Nothing meant more to him than his kids and grandkids, who were truly the light of his life. This year has been especially hard, as he reunites in heave with his mother whom, he loved dearly. Knowing they are together again brings us a small measure of peace.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his love of the outdoors, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved, and his famous line "Check Dig". Juan was known to be a part of the "Peace Boys" with his best friends, well more like brother Greg (P-Body), Chris (Holyfield), and Steve (Griff) Griffin. The bond between them was never in question, and until the day or dad left they loved and cherished one another. Juan was the life of the party, and everyone around him felt the aura he gave off. Always having a smile on his face, always laughed and cracking jokes. His presence will be missed beyond words, but the spirit will live through his family and all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories of his five children Sydney, Cortney, Juaneisha, Jamelle, and Jerriah. His thirteen grandchildren Daylen, Damari, Armoni, Aaliyah, Amari, Adrian, Alora, Amir, Ashanti, Aryon, Ashiyah Rilynn, and Carlie. His siblings include Montee, Alexander, Angelia, Tonya, Antonio, Meeco, and a host of others. Also, he leaves uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends who will sadly miss him.
