PASTOR JOYCE DIXON

It is with fond memories that we celebrate the life of Pastor Joyce Dixon, who is now resting with our beloved Savior. She went to meet the Lord on July 25, 2026. We reminisce about her as the faithful servant who, as a young woman, surrendered her life to Christ and never looked back. Luke 9:62

Joyce was the daughter of Berryman and Beulah Mae Stokes, born into the world on June 4, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio. Her siblings, Dorothy and Gary, were all raised in a supportive home where mutual respect, trust, and perseverance were foremost. Proverbs 22:6

On June 21, 1975, Joyce graciously wed her high-school sweetheart, Anthony Dixon, at Bethesda Apostolic Temple in Dayton, Ohio. She went on to raise a family, rearing Lachanna and Jermaine in the admonition of the Lord. Through the Lord’s leading, the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1991 with Joyce supporting her husband in ministry at the Testament Worship Center. Genesis 12:1

Sometime later, being moved by the Lord, Joyce joined her faith with Pastor Anthony Dixon and in 1996, they established Oasis Ministries, A Place of Watering. Partnered together, Pastor Joyce equipped and served the saints through rigorous study of God’s word, discipleship, and compassionate instruction. Jude 1:22

Through the course of time, Pastor Joyce established Jabbok Women’s Ministries, a place of surrender and emptying out. Through this ministry, she provided mentorship and partnered with community services within College Hill to provide spiritual, emotional, and earthly needs. Her intent was to promote holy submission to the personhood of Christ. Titus 2:4

After a valiant battle, Joyce passed peacefully on Saturday, July 25th, in the presence of family. Preceding her in death are her husband, Bishop Anthony Dixon; father, Berryman Stokes; mother, Beulah Mae Rice; and stepfather, Robert Rice. Proverbs 13:22

Left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her children, Lachanna Jackson and Jermaine Dixon (Nakia); along with her sister, Dorothy Turner, and brother, Gary Stokes. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Rayna, Lauryn, Justin, William, Carrington, and Jonathan; and great-grandchild, Joy Dixon, as well as nieces and nephews and extended family. Psalms 145:4

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
