Joyce Lynn Atkinson was born on February 26, 1958 to the late Cephus and Alberta Burton. She departed this life on July 8, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Tyrone Atkinson Sr. and her brother Walter Burton Sr.

Joyce retired from St. Joseph Orphanage where she worked for 17 years. She loved her job, especially caring for special needs children and young adults.

Joyce was married to the late Tyrone Atkinson and to this union were born Theresa, Tiara and Tyrone Jr.

Joyce loved her children and grandchildren very much. They were always sharing special moments together. She would take turns on the weekends (and some week days) staying over at her daughters' homes. They enjoyed going out to dinner, cookouts, bowling and special family occasions. She enjoyed special Face time moments with her son who lives out of town. She also enjoyed quiet moments reading her various books.

Joyce will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Theresa (Charles), Tiara (Delrico), and Tyrone, Jr.; her grandchildren, Charles Jackson Jr. (CJ), Indian Atkinson, Taniya Hill, Taylynn Hill, Delrico Taylor III, Dakota Taylor and Dyson Taylor; her siblings, Deborah Brown (LaRue), Sandra Givens, Barbara Phillips, Randal Burton (Billie) and Karen Burton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Word Of Life Ministries, 10555 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
