Joseph Darnell Osborne, III, was born on October 31, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the first of six children born to the late Jannie Christine and Joseph D. Osborne II.

Joseph was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and lived a life shaped by resilience, service, and devotion to those he loved. From 1973 to 1975, he proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aerial Surveillance Repairer, traveling the world. After the military, he worked at Rumpke and later moved on to Nutone, where he remained until its closure.

Above all, Joseph found his greatest purpose in being a father. As a devoted single parent, he raised his two daughters with unwavering love, sacrifice, and care.

Joseph will be remembered for the passions that brought him happiness—casting a line while fishing, cooking meals that brought people together, and celebrating life with family and friends. He loved music and a good party.

His life was a testament to resilience, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Joseph was met at the gates of heaven by his parents, Joseph and Jannie Osborne; his sister Auderienne Murray; and nephews, Leon Osborne and William Murray, III.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory: his two daughters: Anita Hopkins-Smith (Shea Smith) and Ebony Hopkins. Five grandchildren: Janiya, Jeremiya, Jovanni, Jakira, and Jaliah. Three sisters: Karen Brown (Richard Brown), Cheryl Powell (Daryl Powell), and Yvette Bennie. One brother, Markanius Osborne (Cheri Osborne). Along with seven nieces: Lucretia Osborne, Mamie Osborne, Shannon Osborne, Ann Olamiju (Tola Olamiju), Sandra Moore (Micheal Moore), Melba Goodman, and Domanik Bailey (Aaron Bailey). One nephew, Jerome Osborne, and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and other family and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
