Joseph James left this earth way too son on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the age of 54.  He was born in Middletown on July 12, 1970.  Joe was the guy that was here for a good time as you could tell with his never changing hairstyle business in the front party in the back mullet.  He loved his family and friends.  He wasn't afraid to show his wild side.  He enjoyed kicking back on a Friday night, mowing grass although he wouldn't admit it, fishing, 4wheeling, and sticking his tongue out at the camera. Sometimes known as an instigator.  But if you knew Joe then you loved Joe.  Some may call him Quagmire but his one true love was always his motorcycle.  He was a great father, caring son, loving brother, fun uncle, spontaneous friend, and an amazing papaw.  He will be greatly missed.  Fly high Smoking Joe.

He is preceded in death by his father, Archie James and his daughter, Sarah James.

Joe is survived by his mother, Docia Hester James; sons, Joshua (Mandi) James, Ryan (Katrinna) James; his brothers, Robert (Beverly) James, John (Jodie) James, Jimmie James; sister Lisa (Roger) Amis.  His grandson, Joel James; nieces and nephews, Justin James, Brittany Amis, Brent James, Katie Schaerer, Drue Luttrell, and an enormous number of friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Butler County, 532 S. Second Street, Hamilton  (45011).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy  leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Woodhill Cemetery, 6228 Hamilton Middletown Rd., Franklin, Ohio 45005.
