Joseph Daniel Hofstetter, age 62 died Saturday July 6 2019 at his home in Cincinnati, OH.

Dan was born Friday March 29 1957 in Cincinnati, OH to Joseph Donald and Betty Jean (Yontz) Hofstetter. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. It was while he was stationed at Kalkar Air Force Base in Germany that he met Petra, who would become his wife on January 19 1980 in Moores Hill, IN. Together they traveled Europe and the United States raising a daughter and then a son. Dan earned a business degree from the University of Maryland along the way. After 26 years of service Dan left the Air Force a Senior Master Sergeant and in retirement opened and ran a successful mens apparel business.

Dan was foremost a husband and father. He rarely left Petra's side and loved to be surrounded by his children and grandkids. He loved to have fun and always had a story to tell. He was a curious traveler, taking every chance to explore the world ( especially its cuisine) with family.

Dan is preceded in death by his mother: Betty Jean Hofstetter and survived by his best friend and wife: Petra Ursula (Sockel) Hofstetter of Cincinnati, OH, son and partner: Joseph Eric Hofstetter of Cincinnati,OH, daughter: Suzanne Hofstetter-Bogart ( Brendan McGill) and five grand children: Lela Bogart (13), Petra Bogart(11), Samuel Bogart(9), Moira McGill(4), Lincoln McGill(1) of Middletown, OH, His Father: Joseph Donald Hofstetter of Moores Hill, IN, Sisters: Karen Hofstetter-Becker of Dry Ridge, KY, Diane Hofstetter-Phillips of Hebron, KY, Rhea Hofstetter-Roy of Moores Hill, IN.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
