IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Dowell,
Jr.
June 19, 1959 – May 11, 2024
Joseph Dowell Jr. was born on June 19, 1959 to Joseph Dowell Sr. and Carrie Mae Dowell. Although Joseph's family moved around due to his father serving in the United States Military he was born in Cincinnati Ohio and attended Cincinnati public schools.
Once leaving Taft High school Joe enrolled into Cincinnati Jop Corps where he thought he would become a master chef, but God had a different design for him. He soon met his wife Virginia Cooper and they joined together in Holy Matrimony. Joseph and Virginia bore six children together; Carl Dowell, Joseph Deandra Dowell, Annisha Dowell, Jamont Dowell, Cedrik Dowell, and Joseph Dowell III.
After having had all of his children, Joe enrolled into Vocational School where he picked up a trade in Gate Valves and became a Machinist at the William Powell Company. In 2011 Joseph began his walk with the Lord, he soon became a member of Obedient Believers In Christ where he served until the Lord brought him home. Joseph was full of life and was always the life of the party wherever he went. If he didn't pinch your cheeks or rock you too sleep then you missed out. Joseph was a loving, devoted, faithful and loyal Father, Husband, Man of God, Big Brother, Bengals Fan and Friend. Once you became a friend you were a friend for life.
On May 11, 2024 the angel of the Lord came and took Joe into the splendors of glory to be with Jesus Christ. He was resurrected in his glorified body where there will be no pain and suffer. Although this is a trying time for his family and friends Joe would have wanted you to rejoice in Lord with gladness, sing praises unto the Lord, and bless his name.
He will be missed by many but you too shall see again. Joseph stepped into the heavenly gates and was greeted by both his parents, his best friend Michael Dewayne (MT) Tucker, and his beloved wife Virginia. Joe leaves behind his six children, eighteen grandkids, his brothers and sister; Debra Dowell, Jeffery Dowell, Jerrold Dowell, and Joy Dowell, his nieces and nephews; Karee Dowell, Carissa Tucker, Michael Tucker Jr., Deborah Dowell, Alex Banks, Tyronna Little, Tyrone Little, Tyhra Little, and Taylor Swain and four best friends Derrick Thomas, Charles(blank), Allen Peterson, and Eugene Fancher aka Mr. Doc.
