John W. Sohmer, 77, passed away on July 16, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew "Bud" and Dorothy "Dot" Sohmer, as well as his brother, Jerry Sohmer. John is survived by his loving wife, Dianna. He is also survived by six children, their spouses, 14 grandchildren, sisters Jane and Sue and brother Dan, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his love for his family and his white shorts.

Visitation with mass following will take place on August 2, 2019 at 11:30am, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 745 Ezzard Charles Dr.  Reception will be held immediately following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Joseph's Choir or the Parkinson's Foundation.
