John H. Smith , age 76, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Springdale, Ohio. John H. Smith was born in Selma Alabama on July 13th 1947 to the late Neil Lightening and Mary Lightening. At the age of 10, John moved to Cincinnati Ohio with his family. Soon after arriving in Cincinnati John was baptized. He graduated from Quarter Tech HighSchool. After graduating from HighSchool John enlisted in the United States Air Force and served 20 plus years and then retired. He married Clara Mae Deboe, December 25, 1966. The Union was blessed with two sons Michael Anthony (Rolonda), and Mark (Paticia). Their union was also blessed with 8 grandchildren. After retiring from the military, he joined the United Staes Postal Service and services another 35 plus years and retired. While working at the U.S. Postal Service he obtained a bachelors degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati. Throughout his life he had a passion of passing on little nuggets of wisdom to who ever he came in contact with. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Southern Baptist Church, 3556 Reading Road, Cincinnati (45229).
