Obituary for John H. Simpson Jr. John Harvey Simpson Jr. was born February 17, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Vena Bealer and the late John Harvey Simpson, Sr. He was the eldest of three children. John was a strong man with a gentle soul and a zest for life and living. John graduated from Forest Park High School and attended vocational school for two years. He joined the United States Air Force in 1980 and an honorable discharge upon leaving. John worked for the Internal Revenue Service for many years. He was a dedicated worker who strived for the quality over quantity of work. He loved his job. John was a very caring man, who often volunteered in the community helping the homeless and those in need. He shared a portion of his life with former wives, Faye Hayes, and Dana Mack. Although he had no biological children, John was loved and cherished by his many stepchildren and step-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his father John Harvey Simpson, Sr., and sister Sherri Sims. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Vena Bealer; sister Celise Bealer; stepfather Lee A. Bealer; stepchildren, stepgrandchildren; uncles Duke Simpson, Sylvester Simpson, Greg Simpson, Terry Walker, George Walker and Jack (Skeet) Walker; aunts Margaret Simpson, Mattie Simpson, Olivia Simpson and Janet (John III) Hand; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Vena Bealer; sister Celise Bealer; stepfather Lee A. Bealer; stepchildren, step-grandchildren: uncles Duke Simpson, Sylvester Simpson, Greg Simpson, Terry Walker, George Walker and Jack (Skeet) Walker; aunts Margaret Simpson, Mattie Simpson, Olivia Simpson and Janet (John III) Hand; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Walker - Mt. Healthy Chapel, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
