John Richard Bradford , age 85, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky. He was born May 8, 1932, in Kalispell, Montana. John "Richard" Bradford began his life journey on the 8th day of May 1932 to the late Thomas and Sarah (White) Bradford in Kalispell, Montana. Richard was reunited with his beloved wife on December 25, 2017. Richard attended Dunbar Elementary School in Elsmere, KY resulting in countless fond memories that he loved to share. He continued his education at Lincoln Grant High School in Covington, KY. Richard married the love of his life, Sarah Alice Weaver on July 4, 1953. They began to build their life and family in Elsmere, KY. Richard worked for American Airlines at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and then later commuted to the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas International Airport. Richard was an avid football and baseball fan, but his favorite sport to participate in was bowling in Local Leagues and in the International League for American Airlines in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Richard was a proud member of the Barnes Temple AME church after joining at an early age. Richard served as a Trustee, Steward, and Custodian. He was a member of the Men's Club and the Nehemiah Nation in addition to actively attending Sunday School and Bible Study. Richard lived a very full life and loved to tell stories and tales of his young days. You knew you were in for a good story when it started with "When I was a little fella…." He loved to brag on his wife, referring to her as Salice or 'My Sweetie'. He would often tell tales of their courtship from a young age and then to parenthood. Richard will be sorely missed for his infectious smile, mischievous grin, and good heart. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Alice Bradford, his sister Helen McCray, and by daughters Regina Powell, and Sharon Ross.
