Joe Henry Mullen, age 84, was born on October 17, 1932, in Eatonton, Georgia, to the late Ethel Griffin and Thomas Mullen. He entered eternal rest on December 16, 2016. Joe worked at the paper mill located in South Cumminsville for thirty years until his health started to fail. He walked to the top of Borden Street to get his exercise daily and around the neighborhood. He would also walk to White Castles every day just to shoot the breeze with good friends. Mr. Mullen leaves to cherish his memories: The love of his life for more than thirty-seven years Ms. Iola Simms; sons, Chester Mullen and Keith Owens; four God children; Warren Kelly, T'Quan Kelly, Krystal Evans-Allen, Dior Evans-Allen; one brother, Tommie Lee Mullen; two sisters, Daisy Reid and Ruby Lee Mullen; one sister in law, Fannie Mullen; six grandchildren; eighteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016, Walker Funeral Home, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chester Mullen officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bob Lake, Roger Laws, Calvin Laws, T'Quan Evans-Kelly, Larry Mauser, Vernon Laws .
