IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmie
Kelley
March 15, 1942 – May 2, 2024
Mr. Jimmie Kelley was born on March 15, 1942 in Madison County, Georgia to the late Sarah L. Kelley and the late Paul Kelley. He departed this life on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the age of 82. Jimmie grew up in Georgia with his grandparents where he learned how to cook and work on his grandparents' farm. Jimmie later moved to Cincinnati, where he met his long time life partner Ella L. Hatcher who had 4 beautiful daughters. Jimmie took the role of being a father and raising them up as his own, and gained a big family from his four daughters. Jimmie worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital for 35 years until he retired.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his life partner, Ella L. Hatcher and his parents, Sarah L. Kelley and Paul Kelley; his sister, Barbara Kelley; grandson, Johnny L. Hatcher, whom he raised; two nephews, Keith Kelley and Ja'Renta Reed and Eugene Pearson.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories, four daughters, Mary White, Robbin Pearson, Jennifer Carter and Pamela Hatcher; brothers, Dezell Kelley and James Kelley in Florida and Theotrice Kelley in Georgia; sons-in-law, John Dean, Jr. and Randell Carter, Sr.; two nieces, Lashasta Kelley and Sybil Kelley; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members and friends.
Jimmie loved going fishing and hanging with his daughters and all of his grandchildren. He loved to cook and laugh and talk and dance. He enjoyed all types of music. He also loved to "kick it" with his family on the weekends. All of his grandchildren came and stayed, some never left. His grandchildren's visits would always brighten up his day. Jimmie would sit outside and drink his coffee. He loved his cowboy shows, The Ten Commandments and sports. Jimmie always loved to help others. "GRANDPA, YOU ARE A GOOD MAN!" Jimmie taught his family how to love and care for one another and not to depend on anyone else. He didn't play when it came to his family.
Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206).
