Jesse Childs, age 76, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born, September 5, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at First Antioch Baptist Church, 1511 Gilpin Avenue, Cincinnati (45206) with visitation from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. He was the second child of three children born to the late Jesse Albert Childs and Lossie Mae (Crawley) Woods in Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, Eugene, Tyrone and Ray Anthony Childs all preceded him in death. Jesse Foster attended the Cincinnati Public School System. Jesse Foster joined the United States Air Force on October 26, 1954, he served until May 26, 1962. He retired as a Conductor from Chessie System Railroad in 1999. Jesse Foster's past time was cooking, fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. He was a kind of person that never met strangers. Jesse Foster was joined in holy matrimony to Mae Frances (Gray) Childs on August 28, 1956. They were married for 50 years until his wife passed away on April 6, 2007. To this holy union, five children were born. Jesse Foster departed this earthly life at 6:02 p.m. on March 29, 2014 at home, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his loving family; two daughters, JaVonne R. Childs and Jessie Y. Thomas (Ronald Sr.); three sons, Troy (Carol) Childs, Tracy (Beverly) Childs and Angelo Childs; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Ann Gross of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Patricia Reyes (Ricky); one brother-in-law, Lester Gray (Virginia) and a host of nieces, nephews, countless relatives and friends. Special friend, M. L. Kelly.
