Obituary

Jesse H. Allen was born April 11, 1929 in Hattwell, Ohio to Rev. Doc F. and Rev. Bessie O. Baines. He was the first of seven children born to this union. Jesse attended South Woodlawn School. After he completed eighth grade, he started working for the Wright Plant (now General Electric). Jesse was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War as a medic. He refused to carry a gun because he was against killing another human being. at an early age, Jesse believed every soul had a right to live. He believed in God's commandment 'Thou Shalt Not Kill'. Jesse was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Edith Wilson in 1960. He came to know and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in January 1957. He attended Mission House of Prayer, where his mother and father were his pastor and overseer. Jesse was the chosen child of the King. He never missed a service once he had given his heart and soul to God. He never looked back. Jesse remained strong in his faith during his illness. He stayed loyal to his maker. Jesse leaves to cherish his life and spirit, one brother: Donald Baines two sisters: Judith V. Baines-Tucker Sandra Baines-Taggart (Albert) Almeta J. Peoples, adopted sister He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Doc F. Baines Jr., Lawrence Baines and Matthew Baines.
