IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jermaine Kendall
Moses
November 6, 1986 – October 7, 2016
Jermaine Kendall Moses was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday, November 6, 1986, to proud parents Bettie Joyce Moses and James McKibben, Jr. He was a premature baby, weighing less than two pounds at birth, but even then he had the spirit of determination to thrive. Jermaine grew up in Madisonville, surrounded by his loving mother and older sister, Tiffinnee. As a youngster, Jermaine was quite the entertainer and jokester. His love of music and dancing was his freedom of expression even then. He attended Anderson Place School and Withrow High School. He first joined New Mission Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville when he was a teenager. Though he left church for a brief period, he harkened the Lord's call and restored his membership June 22, 2014 and was re-baptized. It was during his studies at Withrow High School that Jermaine met Mr. Aaron Pullins, II, who became his Life Coach. Mr. Pullins encouraged Jermaine to follow his passion for music. And that, he did! He worked with APZ Entertainment, and was featured in a song with national recording artist, Erica P. "He was a talented promising artist," says, Mr. Pullins. Jermaine began to perform throughout Greater Cincinnati, singing and dancing at various venues and events. He not only danced and performed under his given name, but he created "alter egos" using the pseudonyms' — Jose Cuervo, Je'Vonte Hurd aka "Little Big Man", and Jermaine Crawford. Followers of his music were devoted. It was not unusual to see "standing-room-only" crowds at his performances, and many people not only celebrating his performance, but dancing with him as he sang. Jermaine was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Lillie R. Vest and Bruce Kendall Vest; two uncles, Jerome Belcher and Milan Crawford; and a cousin, Shannon Belcher. Jermaine departed this life on Friday, October 7, 2016. He leaves to mourn him: parents, Bettie J. Moses-Dennis (Albert) and James McKibben, Jr. (Sylvia) and stepfather, Harold Johnson; grandparents, Dorothy and Alford Crawford; two children: son, Emonney Jermaine Douglas Cohen and daughter, Janiyah Queen Ruby Falkner; two sisters, Tiffinnee Johnson-Williams (Marcus) and Key'Unta "Kiki" Griffin; two brothers, James McKibben III and Eric McKibben; seven nephews, Denzel L., Darrell R., Denerius "DJ", Eric Jr., Abba'sun, Bomani, Mahari; three nieces, Ny'Gierre, Ka'Shyria, Jayla; Grandparents, Alfred and Dorothy Crawford; three uncles, Gregory Belcher, Giovanni Crawford and Alford Crawford; six aunts, Cynthia McNeal, Yolanda Crawford, LaVette Crawford, Lanell Lewis, Marilyn McKibben and J.J. "Jean" JioDucci; two special cousins, Jerome Belcher, Jr. and Finessa Winning (Matt); special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Demaris and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church, 4809 Ravenna Street, Cincinnati (45227). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
