Mrs. Jeanette Marie Watts was born to the late Claudie Burke on March 18, 1943 in Madison, Georgia.  She departed this realm on May 11, 2024. God blessed her with a loving husband, Johnnie B. Watts, Sr., who preceded her in death. Her son Johnnie B. Watts, Jr. and her daughter, Felicia Anita Watts- Blythe preceded her in death.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age.  She joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky under the leadership of Rev. Joseph R. Garr.  She served the church and the Covington community until her untimely death.  In 2016 she was honored with the Northern Kentucky Phenomenal Woman Award.

Jeanette had a passion for singing, cooking and family.  To spend more time with her children she worked as a cook at Covington Holmes High School. She also worked at Pompilio's Restaurant in Newport, Kentucky for 34 years.  She was known as "the singing chef."  After retiring from Pompilio's she worked for her son Alphonso Watts, the owner of Victory Janitorial Services, Inc. until March 2020; that's when she kicked her legs up and fully enjoyed retirement.

Jeanette's legacy includes her sister Lena Perkins, nine children: Brenda Lyles, Robert Lamar, Carl (Shauna), Alphonso (Donna), Jeffrey, Daryl, and Christopher Watts, twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty-five great-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

"I am the resurrection , and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."  - St. John 11:25-26

Visitation is from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, on  Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the New Hope Christian Center, 941 Central Avenue, Newport  (41071).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 5:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Floral Hills Memorial  Gardens, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Taylor Mill, Kentucky 41015.
