Mrs. Jean Collins Griffin, daughter of the late Robert Collins and Julia Mae Castleman was born May 7, 1935 in Covington, Kentucky. Jean was the oldest of seven children: Rosetta Lynch (deceased), Roxie King (deceased), Sheila Mason (deceased), Marie Harris (Theodore), Marie Collins, Paddy Castleman, Geraldine Castleman, Leonard Castleman.

She attended Lincoln Grant High school and was a graduate of Erma Lee School of Cosmetology. Years later she graduated from Cincinnati Technical College and earned credentials to be a Registered Dietician. She retired after 28 years of dedicated service to the VA hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.

At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Old Macedonia. At her passing she was the oldest member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Edward Griffin in September of 1955. This Union was blessed with 4 children: Lisa Gray (deceased), Jill Griffin, Kimberley Crosby (David), Timothy Griffin. Thomas preceded her in death in August of 1988. She was an active member of Meadowlark Etta Wah Temple #7 for over 20 years. She will be cherished and remembered by her remaining children, 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation is from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, on  Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church,  323 East Eleventh  Street, Covington  (41011).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 6:00 pm.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Highland Cemetery,  2167 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017.
