Janice L. Arrington, 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered the Gates of Paradise on February 18, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Janice L. Arrington was born In Cincinnati, Ohio to James Thomas Carmichael and Ora Dell Carmichael on March 23,1955 and raised from the union of Saul Shelton and Mary Lou Shelton. She attended Princeton High School. She married Victor Raymond Thompson, who preceded her in death. Later in life she remarried, Robert Arrington Sr.  She started her career as a nurses aide and later became Bartender/Mixologist.  She later took the Famous Name of DJ Lady J, who was known throughout Cincinnati for her Creative Flare for her Unique Approach for DJing. She was always known to be one of the 1st to show you the latest Line Dance. Janice had an infectious laugh; if you heard it would tickle the soul but would tell you the business right away. Janice was a Natural Entertainer she loved to throw parties and family gatherings to bring you closer to home.

Janice L. Arrington is the mother of 5 beautiful children, Theresa Diane Coomer, Raymond L. Thompson (who proceded her in death) Rayshon Lanell Thompson, Darnell Thompson, Jasmin Nicole Wright and stepmother to Nathaniel Jackson and Victoria and Mary Thompson, Robert Arrington Jr, and Richard E. Arrington. grandmother to: Jaresa, James, Jamell and Daniel Darden, Latasha Thompson, Christopher Hanson, and Kendall, Ray Moore and Drew Thompson, Da'nasha , Daylen, Rozlynn and Mauriannad Thompson; great grandmother to Ami and Bella Ingles, Kingston and Jada Darden; mother-in-aw to Matthew D. Coomer and Christy Thompson.  Janice was one of 10 siblings, 5 brothers Charles, James, Ronnie, Jackie and Kenneth Carmichael; 4 sisters Mary, Gloria, Cynthia and Kim Carmichael.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Baltimore Pike Cemetery , 3200 Costello Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
