Janet K. Smith, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at King Mills Mercy Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1946, in Aurora, Illinois.

Janet devoted much of her life to being a homemaker and caring for her family. At the age of 55, she began her first job outside the home, working at a thrift store—a job she truly loved. Her kind heart, warm spirit, and love for others touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Janet was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by all who met her and was affectionately known as “Grandma” or “Mom” to so many. Her love and presence brought comfort and joy to her family and friends, and the memories she created with those she loved will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Lynette Zanoni, Angel Merriweather, and Paula Smith; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Artillis Taylor and Betty Maye Taylor, and her beloved husband, Daniel Smith.

Janet leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Butler County, 532 S. Second Street, Hamilton (45011). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
