Janet L. Bell, age 61, passed away June 19, 2013. Janet L. Bell (Jeanette) was born on October 02, 1951, to Arthur Edward and Emzie (Brown) Bell in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on her father's birthday and she always said she was his special birthday gift from heaven. She departed this life at Mercy Hospital of Mt. Airy on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Janet attended Riverside High School, where she received her high school diploma in 1969. Janet was a Therapeutic Program Worker and Nurse. She was a Freedom Fighter and very active in the Civil Rights Movement and served in the Peace Corp/Military. She taught preschool and special needs students early her in career. She was employed at The Lewis Center for many years before retiring in 1992. Janet confessed her life to Christ and was baptized at early age. Janet was a woman of faith and always spoke about God to everyone she came in contact with. Janet loved the Lord; she attended St. Xavier, True Holiness Church of God of Mt. Auburn and Word of Deliverance Ministries for the World. Janet enjoyed going to the movies, painting, reading and listening to music. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Janet enjoyed researching history and Bible Study. She never met a stranger and would speak her mind to anyone. She was actively involved in the Feed the Hungry Foundation and the World Vision Foundation which helped needy children around the world. Janet was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Edward and Emzie (Brown) Bell, one brother William Bell, two sisters Joyce Bell Dawson and Eleanor Bell. Janet leaves to cherish in her memory: two sons Danny W. Bell (LaTasha); Christopher L. Dawson (Jennifer) and one daughter Brittany E. Dawson; three step children, Charlene, Arana and Charles; three grandchildren Tyania C. Baggett, Danny W. Bell Jr (Sage) and Isaiah D. Lewis; three siblings, Arthur Bell (Doris), Sherman Bell (Mary) and Edwina (belated Joseph) Adams and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends. Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 26 at CORINTHIAN BAPTIST CHURCH, 772 Whittier Street, Cincinnati (45229) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service. The Rev. K. Z. Smith will officiate. Interment Spring Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Marvin Harrison, James Jones, Dantarious Dodd, Kepsun Adams, Desmond Adams, Mike Robinson Acknowledgement We the family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for all of the many expressions of love and kindness shown to us during our time of bereavement. Continue to keep our family in your prayers as we keep the faith and trust that God will make everything right.
